Goodness, I LIVE on AirPods and other headphones. Even if there's no music, audio book or podcast blasting from it. I can't stand techno music and once asked the gym admin person to change their playlist. I had to leave the gym once because they didn't change the music. Scents are an issue too. I can't go to spas because of essential oils (some oils also trigger seizures). And to make matters worse, my condo building is part of a hotel and the locker rooms to the pool are THROUGH the hotel's spa. Can't use the pool!
This is such an important reminderโespecially the distinction between physical and mental rest. I think a lot of us with ADHD try to โrestโ by scrolling or watching something, and then wonder why we still feel fried after.
Emotional rest especially hit home for meโฆ itโs such an overlooked need when weโre constantly masking or people-pleasing just to function.
Appreciate you breaking this down so clearly. Itโs helping me rethink how I recharge during the week.
Thank you for your comments ๐ you have some great blog articles too , will read up on them, thx for sharing,

I noted for auDHDers, alternate between deep focus modes and wandering mind is a great way to balance your mind, and get proper rest.
Thanks for the advice. I already use several of the apps you suggested, so this feels grounded in what I know to be true about myself.
