From Stuck π to Success ππ: Escape the ADHD Snowman Cycle βοΈand Take Action! πβ¨
Stop spinning your wheels π, break free from overwhelm π΅βπ«, and turn small actions into big wins! ππͺ
π
A few weeks ago, I decided to start running. π
I was pumpedβtime to get fit! πͺ
But instead of hitting the pavementπ€οΈ I dove into research mode ππ:
π Spent hours comparing running shoes.
π± Downloaded three apps to "test."
π₯ Even started reading about nutrition plansβ¦ you name itβ¦
Three days later... I still hadnβt taken a single step. π
All that planning π
had me overwhelmed π΅βπ« and stuck π§.
π The Solution? π‘
Keep it simple β lace up your shoes and head out for 5 minutes. π
Start small and the rest will follow! πβ¨
Sound familiar? π€
This is how we end up in the Snowman Cycle π busy preparing but never actually doing. βοΈ
We start, get stuck in overthinking π and never finish.
But the good news is - donβt worry!
You can break the cycle! π
Thereβs a way out πββοΈπ¨.
Letβs dive in! πββοΈ
Motion: The ADHD Procrastination Trap π§
Motion is the power of procrastinationβit keeps you busy but stuck.
We ADHDβers want everything now β³, but the process feels overwhelming π«.
We donβt know where to start π, so we search for the perfect strategy π§ , lose interest, and move on to the next shiny idea β¨π.
The result? π―
A cycle of endless motion that leads to being motionless π.
Think of it like this, itβs like building a snowman βοΈ:
You start with excitement β rolling the snow into a base.
Then you overcomplicate it β obsessing over tiny details π§.
The snowman melts under pressure π leaving only a puddle π¦.
And before you know it, you're starting another snowman βοΈ without finishing the first oneβ¦
This is the ADHD Snowman CycleβοΈπ
It keeps us trapped in motion πwithout progress β³π
How to Break free π‘from the ADHD Snowman Cycle βοΈπ
Hereβs how to melt the ADHD Snowman Cycle π§ and make real progress π
π― Start Simple: Focus on one small, actionable step instead of the whole picture.
β³ Use a Timer: Work for 5-10 minutes to avoid burnout or perfectionism.
β Celebrate Tiny Wins: Every step forward countsβno matter how small. π
π« Let Go of Perfection: Progress is better than perfect.
Example: The Digital Declutter π±π₯
Letβs say your phone π± has been flooded with hundreds of apps ποΈ and unorganized photos for months.
Instead of trying to organize everything today, follow these steps:
π― Start Simple: Delete just 5 apps you donβt use.
β³ Set a Timer: Spend only 10 minutes cleaning out your photo album πΈ.
β Celebrate Wins: After those 5 apps are gone, take a moment to feel accomplished π.
π« Forget Perfect: Donβt aim for a completely organized phone.
Itβs about progress π±- one small step π£ at a time β³
The goal is to feel like youβve achieved something πͺ
even if itβs just one small win! π
Final Thoughts π
Weβve all been stuck in the ADHD Snowman Cycle β·οΈ- busy but motionless π.
The key is to simplify β, focus and keep moving forward πββοΈπ¨.
With small, consistent actions πΎ, you can turn your ADHD snowman cycle βοΈ
into solid results. πͺ

Whoa, I have built so, so, so many snowmen in my life. I cannot bear to think about how many of them just melted! ADHD is complicated matters. But this post makes everything so much simpler. Thank you!ππ
My ADHD meds need to be adjusted; I'm having trouble focusing (more so than usual,) so my trick is to have one or two articles/stories/poems started at once. I currently have almost a half-dozen and cycle through them.
